Calendar
The Calendar view places a page's notes on a date. Use it for due dates, meetings and anything that happens on a day. Drag a note to another day, and its date changes.
- Where
- View ▸ Show as Calendar, or the view tab's Show as menu
- Keys
- Arrow keys move between days, Tab steps through a day's notes, ⌥→ moves the focused note one day
- Range
- Day, Week or Month, with Previous, Next and Go to today
- Markdown copy
- A moved note's date is its field's value, so the Markdown copy shows the new date.
Choose the date field
The Date field menu in the view bar lists the Date and Timestamp fields that the notes carry, or that their supertags declare, sorted by name. Created and Edited come last. Without a choice the first date field is used, or Created when a page has none. Created and Edited are recorded times, so a drop cannot change them.
Each note goes on the day its chosen field holds. A date range puts the note on every day it covers.
Show a day, a week or a month
Use Day, Week or Month in the view bar, under Calendar range. Month is the default. Previous and Next move one unit, and Go to today returns to today. A week starts on the first day of the week in your calendar settings.
When the calendar has the keyboard, Page Up and Page Down move a month back and forward.
Move a note to another day
Drag a note onto a day. Its chosen date field takes that day, as one undo step. Dragging a note onto the Undated tray clears its value. The context menu does the same things: Open, Move to Today, Move to Tomorrow and Clear Date. Clear Date appears only for a note that has a date.
Use the keyboard
The calendar is one key area. Tab enters it. Arrow keys move the focus between days. Once a day is focused, Tab and ⇧Tab step through its notes, and at the ends the keys leave the grid. The focus returns to the same day when you come back.

Add a note on a calendar
New Note on a calendar makes a note on the day in view. In the Day unit that is the day shown, and in other units it is today. When the chosen date field is a Date or Timestamp, the new note gets that date. On a supertag's calendar the note goes to the Inbox with the supertag. A saved search's calendar takes no new notes; change its conditions to change what it lists.
Which notes appear
A calendar shows the page's child notes, a supertag's notes or a saved search's results. The notes go through the filter conditions and the sort in View options, so a filter hides notes from the calendar. Group is not offered. A busy day shows a +N more button. It switches to the Day unit for that day, so every note on it is listed.
Combine it
- Tasks by due dateShow a #task's notes on a calendar with Due as the date field. Dragging a task moves its due date.
- A search on a calendarShow a saved search as a calendar. A condition such as Due is before today keeps counting from the day you are on.
- Meetings by dayGive each meeting note a Date field, then show the meetings in Week view to see the week's schedule.
- When a note was madeChoose Created as the date field to place notes on the day they were made. Created cannot be changed by a drop.
Limits
- Only Date and Timestamp fields take a drop. Created and Edited are read only on the calendar.
- A calendar cannot be grouped, and it has no Group control.
- A note with a date range appears on each day the range covers.
